Changing the location of htdocs to a NAS drive?

 2:00 pm on Jun 4, 2007 (gmt 0)

I've just installed Apache etc onto my local windows PC for the first time as I'm wanting to learn basic PHP with includes etc.

I want to change htdocs to a location on my NAS drive rather a local drive. However, when I do this Apache crashed when I try to start it.

I can point it to any local drive/directory but any NAS drive/directory and it crashes.

Any thoughts on this please?

Thanks a lot,

It may be a better idea to Alias the NAS drive:

With Apache running as a service:
Alias /NAS/ "//nashost/NasSharename/NasPath/"

or if you run Apache in Win, and the drive is mapped (has a drive letter) you can do this:
Alias /NAS/ "N:/PathName/"
