Hope I am in right forum..what is the command to copy fromn a unix server a website via a ssh program? This is sort of? like DOS...
Part of my site was wrongly uploaded to the root dir and I cannot see nor overwrite the files via FTP..so they set me up with a shell program (think right term) it is like DOS....so I want to copy all the files on my server for this website.(it is a dedicated server) I need exact command to do this please..thank you....

the command to copy an entire directory to another is:
cp /from/directory/path/* /to/directory/path

to "move" files rather than "copy" use "mv" rather than "cp".

note that if you have hidden files (".*") they will not be moved or copied using the above commands...
