| Uniques growing much faster than Visits

Since Jan this year, our uniques are solidly up - 55% up over the equivalent period last year. Meanwhile pageviews have gone up just 22%.
Is this ratio change (a smaller pageviews/uniques) happening to others - or just us.
Anyone know why or thoughts on why? I am thinking more people using incognito mode in browsers might lead to this, i.e. the uniques measure might no longer be useful.
