|Google Analytics - Big Surge in Direct Visits from Inktomi Corporation|
| 9:44 am on Sep 3, 2012 (gmt 0)|
I'm seeing Google Analytics reporting a big surge in direct visits across lots of websites in August. (eg sites that typically get 500 direct visits a day are getting 2000 - 4000).
Digging into the figures, GA reckons the visits are coming from Inktomi Corporation - and it's always 1 page per visit, so of course bounce rates are going through the roof.
Inktomi was bought out by Yahoo wasn't it? I wonder who is really behind this, and what they're up to.
Anyone else seeing anything like this?
