Tracking conversions on a 3rd party site

 5:47 pm on Aug 9, 2012 (gmt 0)

My business works with affiliates to whom we send traffic, and when a signup happens on their site, we are paid. We need a way to confirm that what they're reporting to us is accurate and trustable - so we gave them a pixel hosted on our site that would be implemented on their conversion page. Unfortunately, the data seems extremely off, and they're saying it's our pixel - not their reporting system. They recommended we get them a "Google Pixel, javascript if possible".

I've been trying to figure out how / where to do this or set this up. Any clues, guys?

create a new profile in Google analytics and put that code in their signup form (on their site). this way you can track how much taffic from your site arrived on theirs and how it converts.

Hm, I don't relish having to create a new Google Analytics profile for every partner we work with.

Then don't create a new profile, just get them to put the tag for your existing profile on those pages on their site that you want to track.

If your working with multiple partners you might want to look into piwik, it's open source, it's good stuff.
