Anyone know how I can use Google Website Optimizer (or something else) to test different versions of our search results pages? We have the ability to factor sales into our search results, so items with more sales will show up higher.
Is there a way to use GWO to test the two versions (sales data on vs sales data off)? I'm thinking there isn't because GWO wants to either compare a single unchanging URL vs another single unchanging URL, or just move a few things around on a single URL.
The only way to turn on/off our sales data is by using a query string, so to switch someone from one version to another I'd have to add the query string flag, and include their search term. So there can be infinite URLs that fall into the 'sales data on' group or the 'sales data off' group
I can't be the first person to try this, has anyone else come up with a good way to do it, either with GWO or some other testing method?
