Google Analytics discrepancy on outgoing clicks
Client says he receives less clicks than reported by my Event report

I am tracking outgoing clicks to a client site using event tracking. When I go to Outgoing links+Click category I have 165 unique events recorded.

They also use analytics and when they go to Referring sites>My site they get a lower number of clicks (135) than those reported by my Event report.

Can anyone help explain what could cause this?

Your outgoing tracking is using javascript events added to outgoing links.

Their incoming tracking is using the referer string from the browser.

Both have errors and are not supported 100% of the time. A lot of browsers can be set to disallow referers, and javascript redirects can block them too.
