Traffic Stats for 301 Redirects
Does Google Analytics Show Traffic Numbers From 301 Redirects?

 7:08 pm on Oct 26, 2009 (gmt 0)

I have over 50 domains that forward to my main site via 301 redirects.

I want to know how to tell what type of traffic these forwarded domains are bringing to my main site within Google Analytics.

Also, where would these stats show up withing Google Analytics? Is it considered direct traffic? If so, how do I know which forwarded domain is sending the visitors.

I'm interested in this too.

You should hardcode traffic source by 301 redirecting to something like url?utm_source=website&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=referral

Then the traffic would show up as referral traffic which makes sense.

How do you hardcode a traffic source? Thanks so much.
