I need some clarity on the topic of Event Tracking that I hope I can get some help with quickly.

Basically I am proposing a solution for a online radio type of site that wants to utilize Event Tracking and record durations:

[code.google.com...]
[code.google.com...]

My question is this..in the first link it explains the following values that can passed to Google Analytics for Event Tracking:

category (required) - Example: Mix Name
actions (required) - Examples: Play, Stop & Pause.
Labels (optional) - Example: Song Name or Username
Value (optional) -

So far I am clear but when I start considering Extending Event Tracking and tracking duration of plays explained here:

[code.google.com...]

I am lost as to how TimeTracker correlates with Event Tracking in general as well as how TimeTracker, works with the optional "Value" that can be passed when using Event Tracking.

So is the optional "Value" in Event Tracking used to track duration?

Is the optional "Value" used at all if we are tracking duration with Extending Event Tracking?

Any and all light on this top is more than welcome.

Thank you!
