I have been running some adverts on Facebook which haven't been going great but still getting a number of clicks from them. So to double check on them, I double check GA and when I view the referrals for my site, I see I'm getting traffic from both www.facebook.com and apps.facebook.com.
I'm getting far better visitor stats from www.facebook.com with lower bounce rate, more avg. time on site, etc and the stats from apps.facebook.com are kinda embarrassing...
The whole point of this thread is, is there any way I can block the apps.facebook.com URL within the Facebook ad as the visitors from there just aren't interested. Plus just to add salt to the wound, I'm actually getting more visitors from apps.fb than the main site!
I've already contacted Facebook for help but have received no reply so far.
Yes, I too use Facebook, and I find like you that over half of my Facebook visitors come from those apps. But I have not done any statistics on their activity. Sorry I cannot help much. But I do find that the cost per click on Facebook is getting far too high for us as we have a low price product. Like all big companies they are hard to get response from.
