How long til Google Analytics reports a visitor

Wondering if anyone knows how long between a visit to a page before reporting it in Analytics. I've noticed there is some sort of lag.

Google says one whole day, but its more about 5-6 hours.

If you want to see the data for today be sure to mark the current date in the date-selector.

Google takes roughly 24 hours or daily reporting the cut off time is listd at 3 aM

I find that generally mine will update every 3-4 hours, I never read much into the data until the following day though.

While visitor numbers may update more frequently than 24 hours, be careful because the conversion numbers are not updated on the same schedule so it can be pretty confusing. It's best to look at GA as a daily service rather than intra day to avoid this issue.
