I first noticed that I had a lot of 'direct' access to one of my domains, where I thought almost all traffic is coming from a frame of another domain. Analytics showed zero traffic from the framing domain. So I thought, OK let me test this, and sure enough the headers did not show the referrer from the framed page.
Installed a script between framing and framed, that loads the page via javascript to insure, the headers show (they do).
Now analytics shows 50% of the traffic I have on the referring page on the referred page as coming from that domain and the rest is still 'direct'.
