Basic Ad Tracking? terrybarnes msg:3800756 12:33 pm on Dec 5, 2008 (gmt 0) Apologies if this is in the wrong forum but I was a little unsure as to where to place it.
I have been given two advertising positions on a couple of sites. What I'd like to be able to do though is track those who click on those adverts and therefore come to my site.
Is there any straight-forward way of doing this?

Basically some kind of referrer ID so I could track it through Analytics or something like that? epistable msg:3803327 1:35 pm on Dec 9, 2008 (gmt 0)
Which analytics package are you using? All the major ones I've encountered allow you to tag links to your site with a couple of attributes to see how those visitors perform on your site. For example, to tag the links for Google Analytics, you'd follow the instructions at: [ ...] google.com terrybarnes msg:3803361 2:18 pm on Dec 9, 2008 (gmt 0)
Thanks for this - that's very, very useful.
