My Host not releasing logfiles.

What options do we have?

I'm hosted with the 'big poppa' on a shared service with one of my site, and on a static IP.
I'd prefer not to move as we are indexed and being hit decently for a new site.

What options does one have without killing SEO efforts to implement a better tracking / statistics system?

Copy site to a proper host.
Change DNS.
Wait a week.
Dump logless host.
Done properly, no impact on anything, except that you now get log files.

GA isn't very friendly. From what I hear, the stats are wrong often and it slows the user's experience down a bit?

I'm already in with them shortly after posting this as this site is new.

Yes I hear you about switching hosts. But there is a SEA of hosts out there and I'm just not sure who to trust really. I've been down a long path of researching hosts before and been with a few I thought would be great, which either closed up shop without notice or, had HORRIBLE uptime or speed.

I guess that's what you get with 'on the cheap' hosting with static IPs. Godaddy keeps you under 10 bucks for this.

yea GA is not working very well for me on this site either.
NEXT!
I miss Awstats. :(

Anyone has any suggestions for a sub $10 host that offers a static IP, please PM me! (Unix based only)

I appreciate it.

I'll bet you got a lot of SMs. There are dozens of ISPs out there that could probably give you what you need.
