|AOL search, powered by Google?|
Clarification needed as to whether AOL actually uses google as its Search.
I have been given the task to find out why a keyphrase we have for a client appears on the front page of Google & MSN, but not on AOL?
Now my first initial response would be that AOL uses its own Search (aint been to an AOL site in years), but alas it says quite openly on the AOL site that their search is powered by Google.
So my question is: Does anyone know why the said keyword does not appear in the results on the AOL site, but appears in the results for the same search directly in Google?
Cheers for all the help in advance :)
I'm not 100% sure who 'powers' their current search - but they have a 'beta' search that is 'enhanced by Google', which probably reflects an advertising deal starting soon.
Whoever provides AOL's search, it will never be the same as the standard version - it will always be a combination of the search plus AOL's favored sites.
So for friends of AOL, getting on the front page may be a tad easier; for others, it may be more difficult.
