I joined an affiliate program last year to promote a software that plays streaming video. My stats in CJ show a CTR of 5% and a 7 day EPC of $150. But the program has a 7 week EPC of $15. Even more confusing, the advertiser's links and banners have different EPCs ranging from $4 to $150. Why is my EPC so high as compared to the program EPC? Is my CTR too low? I am worried thinking I need t do something more to match my EPC with the advertiser's EPC. One webmaster I spoke to told me not to bother because different websites have different EPCs and CTRs. But are there no textbook EPC and CTR levels that I should be aiming for? Thanks for listening. Maureen

Yes, it is true depending on where the links are placed, the content on the website etc. Aim to have a higher EPC and CTR than your competitors.
