Article in Media Buyer Planner [mediabuyerplanner.com] details how political advertising is expected to grow to over four billion dollars, a 100% increase over spending in 2008.

Interestingly only 1% of that amount is going to be spent online. Seems like an area for growth.

They've perfected the TV attack ad so the impulse to keep throwing money at such ads is probably quite strong . . plus the media buyers and "the system" probably like big bucks model.

I wonder what the future Web Attack Ads will look like?

A pop-up video? One that inserts all manner of subliminal messages . . while you stare at a series of images that the behavioral scientists and behavioral tracking systems say will hold "this viewer's" attention?

I can only imagine the image and message pairings.

For me I'm sure the image will be . . a chicken salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat with a pickle on the side. :P

Please...keep 99% of the ad spend offline.

If not, get ready for an explosion of ad-blocker use and downloads...
