I have learned recently a lot about how Adsense works. It's a very quirky program. Optimizing ads, pages and who knows what. What about direct ads? I think I can recruit them myself. How do the dynamics with direct revenue and its ad management compare with Adsense?

I wish I had direct advertisers, just to not have to rely on Adsense only. But that would take a lot of time, which can be spending improving my websites.
That's my point of view at least...

Direct ads are the best, if you have the time, skill, energy and enthusiasm to do it.
This will always result in the highest revenue if you learn how to set the right expectations and also manage to collect payments ahead of time.
