I run a travel business with a limited product inventory. ie the product is my own and when we are full on a particular day we cannot sell more product. Our product is suited best to travel companies who can query our database and offer our product if it's available for requested dates.
However, having said that, the commissions are decent. Much more than the hotel affiliates pay for a comparable product, so it's possible to earn money as an affiliate even using PPC on a whitel label version of our site.
I want to pitch this to the affiliate crowd but I want to avoid the traps of small-time affiliates who waste my time in integration and then make no sales.
I would love to hear from the big players on how and where I might market my product.
These are the methods affiliates can use to sell my product:
- XML full integration. Allows travel affiliates to show my product availablity and list it alongside competitors for chosen dates
- Open my search box in an iframe. They can do this on their own site.
- White label site
- Banner on their own site
All commissions are visible instantly in a control panel and the affiliate can see some useful stats on where their sales came from.
currently our biggest affiliates integrate through XML. It's the most work but brings the most benefits.
Would love to get some tips.
