Hello guys, I see a lot of popular web sites have DoubleClick ads... mostly flash banners which I assume pay per impressions... I've checked DoublClick website and it's pretty confusing... How do you sign up for DoubleClick? Do these web sites only use their DobleClick ad technology and display their own ads or DoubleClick serves it's ads? Thanks for your time...

Doubleclick run one of the most popular ad servers out there in the market with a product called DART. This is responsible for serving the ads and measuring delivery rates, clickthroughs etc. They are not actually selling the ad space for you, this would be done either inhouse or through a media agency. The recent Google purchase has resulted in a "DART Lite" version being beta-tested at the moment but again is ad serving software, not something that monitised your site.
