I don't think I've seen any trace of WebTV for years - there may still be a very small number of stragglers hanging on, but not any significant number. Your user's probably upgraded and got Gmail like everyone else. :)

Yes, a friend of mine still has one and uses it daily. *Sure wish I went for a PC instead of making the same mistake though it did teach me HTML! :)

Does the WebTV PC simulator still exist anywhere?

Yeah. It's still around. We had a customer a couple of months ago that mentioned he was a webtv user. Came as surprise to me. Did a search and found that Microsoft bought it long ago and webtv is now sometimes referred to as MSN TV2. They have made the occasional services upgrade. I suppose that it is a 'just in case' investment by Microsoft. [about-the-web.com...]

I maintain a project that keeps track of user agents. I still regularly see a few WebTV user agents visiting my sites. The most recent one was July 26, 2009. There are more recent versions, but this is the one I keep seeing: Mozilla/4.0 WebTV/2.6 (compatible; MSIE 4.0)
