Bilingual English/Japanese site: I'm clueless!
How do I make sure it looks good in Japanese?

We have the layout done for a bilingual site, with both versions in English for the html. Now it's time to add the Japanese text. The client has the computer with Japanese keyboard, my task is to prepare the pages for them to insert the text.
I'm using a DTD of XHTML Strict and charset=UTF-8--is that proper for Japanese fonts? Any advice is appreciated!

I think so. It's the set we use for our multilingual Wiki.

However, you also need to make sure that your DB and host software supports these characters.
